The Red Hat User Experience Design team is looking for an Interaction Designer. In this role, you will contribute as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes other designers, developers, product managers, and stakeholders throughout all phases of the development cycle. You'll contribute to the user experience of Red Hat products and seek to turn complex enterprise use cases into desirable and usable solutions for our customers. You will look to understand our user’s needs and their experiences so that you can effectively communicate sound improvements with our internal, cross-functional teams. This is a great opportunity to collaborate with passionate and talented user experience and product development teams at a company with a growing focus on user experience.

Primary job responsibilities

Contribute to the user experience vision for one or more products or product lines

Identify problems, gauge the usability of products, and make sound recommendations for improvements

Understand and clearly communicate the information architecture, workflows, and processes surrounding the user experience with fellow designers and developers

Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design

Collaborate with our team’s user researchers to perform usability tests to validate design choices

Work with developers to successfully implement designs into products

Required skills

Bachelor's degree or higher in interaction design, visual design, human computer interaction, human factors, computer science, or a closely related area

Ability to apply design thinking into complex problem spaces

Passion for working in a team environment and sharing best practices

Candidates must present a portfolio of user experience work (include links to work within your resume)

Experience with the following is considered a plus:

Agile development methodologies

Open source projects and technologies

Enterprise, business-to-business product design

Evangelizing user experience design across organizations

Web development and coding
