Digital Equality and Access for All - John Samuel and the LCI Tech Team

This month, instead of a pre-recorded webinar, we have the opportunity for an in-person discussion and demonstration by LCI Tech, a local provider of digital accessibility testing and consulting solutions.  The LCI Tech team will share how blind and visually impaired people use screen readers and screen magnification to engage with digital content. 

Today, nearly 20% of Americans live with a disability — and digital content is difficult or impossible for them to navigate, understand and consume.  However, there are applied methods for designing digitally equitable content that creates a universal experience that is inclusive of people who are blind or visually impaired, deaf or hard of hearing, or those with cognitive and/or physical disabilities, such as the inability to use a mouse. 

In this presentation, the LCI Tech team will 

• demonstrate how blind and low vision users navigate the web, 
• educate participants on the basics of the Web content Accessibility guidelines (WACAG) 2.0 Level AA, and 
• share best practices for designing content for web accessibility.
