Job Description

Lenovo is a global technology leader focused on delivering smarter technology for all. Through continued investment in AI-powered computing, innovative hardware experiences, and next-generation device ecosystems, Lenovo is shaping the future of how people work, create, collaborate, and interact with technology. Research plays a critical role in ensuring these innovations are grounded in real customer needs and meaningful user outcomes.

As a UX Researcher, you will join a team focused on exploring future personal computing experiences and helping guide innovation efforts across Lenovo's PC ecosystem. The researcher will partner closely with designers, researchers, product teams, and technical stakeholders to evaluate concepts, identify opportunities, and generate insights that influence product direction.

This is not a traditional UX research role centered around usability testing, feature validation, or A/B testing. Instead, the team is focused on understanding broader user needs, uncovering opportunities for innovation, and evaluating how emerging technologies can enhance the overall user experience.

The ideal candidate is naturally curious, comfortable with ambiguity, highly collaborative, and capable of adapting research approaches to evolving business and product questions. They will serve as an embedded partner to design teams and help shape decisions throughout the innovation process.

  • Investigate user perceptions and adoption behaviors related to AI-enabled and voice-driven experiences.
  • Synthesize research findings into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Communicate insights through compelling storytelling and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across design, product, engineering, and research.
  • Contribute to innovation initiatives where goals, opportunities, and solutions may not yet be fully defined.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of UX Research experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Human Factors, Anthropology, Design Research, or related field
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating research process, methodology selection, synthesis, and business impact.
  • Experience influencing product strategy and design direction through research.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience supporting hardware, software, AI, or emerging technology initiatives preferred.
  • Familiarity with innovation, concept testing, or future-state product development preferred.

Employee Value Proposition (EVP)

This opportunity offers the chance to work on research that helps shape the future of personal computing. Rather than focusing solely on incremental product improvements, this role contributes to innovation initiatives exploring how AI, voice technology, contextual intelligence, and emerging hardware capabilities may transform the user experience.

The researcher will work directly with experienced design and innovation teams, gain exposure to strategic product initiatives, and have the opportunity to influence decisions that may impact Lenovo's long-term product vision.
