Job Description
Lenovo is a global technology leader committed to delivering smarter technology for all. As the company continues to evolve into a full-stack solutions provider, it is making significant investments in its global partner ecosystem. This ecosystem enables resellers, distributors, and solution providers to bring Lenovo products and services to market and plays a critical role in driving business growth.
At the center of this ecosystem is Lenovo’s partner platform experience, which supports onboarding, product discovery, integrations, sales enablement, and partner performance management. As Lenovo expands its AI-driven strategy and continues to simplify partner engagement, there is an increasing need to better understand user needs and validate how these experiences are designed.
The UX Researcher will play a key role in shaping this transformation by delivering clear, actionable insights that inform product and design decisions in real time. This role leans heavily into qualitative research, with a focus on concept shaping, experience feedback, and rapid iteration cycles.
You will work as part of an embedded, cross-functional team alongside designers, product managers, and prototypers, supporting multiple concurrent workstreams such as onboarding, integrations, partner workflows, and AI-assisted experiences. Your work will help ensure that designs are grounded in real user needs before and during development.
This is not a traditional, large-scale research role. Instead, you will operate in a lean, high-impact model, often working with small groups of participants, supplemented by internal stakeholders and subject matter experts. You will be expected to quickly ramp on complex domains such as partner ecosystems and channel sales models, and translate findings into recommendations that designers can act on immediately.
Additional Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage multiple concurrent research initiatives across onboarding, integrations, partner workflows, and AI-enabled experiences
- Own research operations including scheduling, participant tracking, stakeholder communication, recruitment coordination, and research repositories
- Facilitate planning sessions, stakeholder reviews, and research alignment meetings
- Track research milestones, dependencies, risks, and priorities across workstreams
- Create and maintain research artifacts, status updates, executive summaries, and operational documentation
- Partner closely with designers, product managers, and prototypers to ensure insights are embedded into design decisions
- Help mature and scale research processes and best practices across the organization
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Strong facilitation skills for interviews across different user types, including end users, technical teams, and executive stakeholders
- Ability to generate product and experience feedback that helps refine concepts early, before formal validation
- Experience conducting rapid-turnaround research, including synthesizing findings within days and presenting to stakeholders the following week
- Comfortable shaping UX recommendations without relying on large data sets, using expert judgment and design understanding
- Ability to evaluate interfaces and identify opportunities for improvement without requiring formal usability testing
- Experience collaborating closely with designers to refine flows, reduce friction, and improve usability
- Strong storytelling skills with experience presenting findings to senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Experience working in Agile or iterative delivery environments
Secondary Skills (Nice to Haves)
- Experience with lightweight quantitative methods such as pulse surveys
- Familiarity with digital experience testing and concept validation workflows
- Exposure to AI-driven or conversational experiences
- Experience in B2B, partner ecosystems, or channel sales environments
- Understanding of interaction design and usability principles
- Experience partnering closely with level designers and researchers
Employee Value Proposition (EVP)
This role offers the opportunity to influence a high-visibility transformation at a global technology leader. You will play a critical role in shaping AI-enabled experiences that support Lenovo’s partner ecosystem, directly impacting how partners interact with the platform. As part of a collaborative and embedded team, you will work closely with senior designers, product leaders, and researchers while helping drive meaningful product decisions. The role provides the opportunity to lead rapid, high-impact research efforts, develop expertise in a complex enterprise domain, and contribute to a modern, insight-driven approach to product development.
Work Environment
This role operates within a distributed, hybrid team environment with regular collaboration across design, product, and engineering. You will be embedded within a core team while also engaging with a broader stakeholder group, including other senior researchers and designers. The work is fast-paced and iterative, with multiple active workstreams requiring strong prioritization and adaptability. The team values proactive communication, continuous feedback, and close collaboration to ensure research insights are quickly translated into design improvements.
Business Drivers / Customer Impact
This role directly supports Lenovo’s efforts to modernize and enhance its partner platform experience. By uncovering user needs and providing timely feedback on concepts and designs, you will help improve usability across complex workflows such as onboarding, integrations, and partner management. Your work will inform how AI-driven features are introduced and ensure that new capabilities align with real user expectations. Ultimately, your insights will help create a more intuitive and effective experience, enabling partners to operate more efficiently and deliver better outcomes to their customers.
Why is the position open?
This role is part of a broader initiative to evolve Lenovo’s partner platform and better align it with modern user needs and AI-driven capabilities.
