    Lead User Experience Research efforts across a domain to help product teams identify the right problems, find and validate the right solutions, and design high quality experiences. Lead a small pod of researchers and conduct strategic research.

    The User Experience Research team is part of Fidelity’s Customer Knowledge and Strategic Insights domain – a 400-person organization consisting of analytics, research, and artificial intelligence experts. 

    The User Experience Research Director is a player-coach: leading a small team of researchers, partnering closely with multi-disciplinary product teams to prioritize learning agendas, and conducting research that helps Fidelity bring new and improved experiences to our current and prospective customers. 

    The Expertise You Have
    • Bachelors and/or Masters in Design, Human Factors, Psychology, or related field 
    • +8 years conducting and leading UX Research in an enterprise setting, minimum 2 years people management 
    • Experience delivering UX research in an agile work environment

    We are looking for a smart, passionate User Experience Research Specialist to lead UX research projects to help refine the online experience with a focus on Mobile. You’ll work closely with project managers, designers, developers, and business stakeholders, striving to optimize websites for a wide range of site visitors, from consumers to IT decision-makers. Responsibilities include all aspects of UX research from test design and implementation, to results analysis and reporting. You’ll also educate execs and product teams on customer needs and behaviors, inspiring individuals and teams to become truly customer-smart and -centric.

    Primary Responsibilities
    • Work on UX research roadmap for Mobile that defines core research needs and describes the range of studies needed by the mobile website and product teams
    • Lead and conduct UX research that studies a wide range of website UIs, customer types, and product information 
    • Provide efficient, timely execution of research projects, using a wide range of tools and methods
    • Perform competitive analysis, benchmarking, contextual inquiry and other advanced types of usability tests
    • Contribute UI ideas that simplify and enhance the online experience
    • Share and evangelize study results within the product division and other web-focused teams

    Qualifications
    • Hands-on experience with a wide range of UX research methods
    • Working knowledge of experimental design and statistics; equally comfortable with qualitative and quantitative data
    • Deep understanding of and practice applying the principles of good web and UI design
    • Experience with design issues, customers, and customer needs unique to data center products (networking, servers, and storage products)
    • Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
    • Excels at communicating with product teams and engaging them in UX research
    • Organizational skills to manage multiple projects with different deadlines and prioritize tasks independently
    • Adaptability to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
    • Possess a positive attitude and ability to work in a collaborative and energetic team environment
    • Patience for wading through data
    • Deeply curious, empathetic and passionate about figuring out why people do what they do

    Education/Experience
    • Graduate degree or equivalent experience in a research-oriented social science such as Cognitive Psychology, Anthropology, Ethnography or Human-Computer Interaction, 
    • 3-4 years hands-on experience conducting UX research in website design and use

    Position Summary
    As a UI Designer/Developer, reporting to the Product Manager, you’ll help us empower educators to ignite change and inspire students through collaborative professional learning. In this multifaceted role, you’ll use a wide range of skills including Design Thinking methodologies, user interface design, HTML and CSS to create engaging experiences educators.

    You’ll work with developers, marketing, sales and online learning staff to reinforce the creative vision for the company’s brand and product experience. You must be able to work effectively in a demanding, collaborative, fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.




    What you’ll do

    • Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of business stakeholders, developers, researchers and subject-matter experts to translate customer and prospect feedback into product enhancements
    • Create user interface sketches, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes for a wide-range of devices and screens
    • Provide thought leadership with regard to new technologies and applications to grow the our arsenal of available tools to continually improve customer experience
    • Observe and participate in user research
    • Track key design milestones and work with Project Manager to prioritize
    • Key Knowledge, Skill, Ability and Education Requirements

    • Graduate of a Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Service Design, or User Experience Design focused program at a university or technical bootcamp or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 2 or more years of relevant work experience
    • Ability to effectively communicate, plan and collaborate with a wide variety of internal stakeholders and external vendors
    • Strong portfolio showcasing your skills in user experience and user interface design
    • Deep understanding of Design Thinking methodologies and processes such as Design Sprints or Lean UX
    • Experience with interface prototyping tools such as Sketch, Invision, Marvel, Axure, Origami, or Principle
    • Familiarity with user interface guidelines for mobile platforms including IOS and Android
    • Expertise in authoring HTML and CSS
    • Not necessary, but a plus to have some knowledge of Agile and JavaScript
